365 Days of Thankfulness: My Greatest Blessing Calls Me Mom

Children are a gift from the Lord, they are a reward from Him - Psalm 127: 3

I know a little girl who loves unicorns and rainbows and is fascinated by dogs, dolphins and dinosaurs. She just turned six few days ago. She is musically inclined - she has a good singing voice and can pick up the tune pretty fast. She is left handed and have two left feet, she loves and is trying her best to do some dance moves. She is into arts and she enjoyed making crafts a lot. She is ticklish and can easily laugh at the silliest joke one can throw at her. She is bubbly, smart, kind, friendly, inclusive, very loving, thoughtful and understanding.

She knows the situation we are in, the pandemic and all the restrictions that comes with it. She is currently doing her school remotely so she's just staying home all the time. She never complains of not being able to come with me whenever I go out for errands. On her birthday, she wasn't expecting anything and told us she would be happy to get a hand made birthday card. Her only request was to have a drawing of dolphin or tulips in it. Her birthday wish was 'for COVID19 to be over so that everyone (family, loved ones, friends) can all see each other and be together again.' Some nights her prayer is for other people we don't know to be safe and that their needs are met, other nights her prayer is just to thank God for creating the world. But most nights, her prayer is for God to make her dreams or nightmare go away the moment her eyes are dark (means when she's already sleeping, her eyes are closed that's why it's dark).

She would do small gestures, like opening the door for you and reminding you to say thank you by asking you 'what will you say?' when you forgot.

I admire her spirit, her heart! I have never known or met any person whose heart is as pure as this little girl.

This little girl calls me mom. She is my daughter, my greatest blessing. And I am extremely proud of her and truly grateful to God for entrusting this precious child into my care.
